Insect Invasion services Burnside, Hectorville, Gilberton and Norton Summit on our regular Adelaide runs, covering the eastern side of the city from the River Torrens out to the hills face. We're a Barossa-based family business, operating since 2009, so jobs in the east are booked for days we're already working in that part of Adelaide.

The east is some of Adelaide's most established ground. Burnside sits at the foot of the hills with leafy streets, big gardens and plenty of older villas and bungalows. Gilberton is a small riverside pocket beside the Torrens and the Linear Park. Hectorville is mostly solid post-war brick homes with mature backyards. Old trees, settled gardens and older roof spaces add up to the same pattern we see in the Barossa's oldest towns: webbing spiders under eaves and in hedges, ants working through old paving, and mice looking for a warm roof space once the nights turn cold.

Norton Summit is a different job again. Up on the hills face, homes sit among bush, orchards and damp gullies, which is ideal country for Portuguese millipedes after the autumn rains. Bush-edge blocks also see more rodents and more spiders than the flats below. A barrier treatment timed before the rain, plus tamper-resistant bait stations where they're needed, is usually the answer.
